An entirely text-based visual novel

Heavens' Revolution: A Lion Among the Cypress is an adventure game for PC. Developed by Choice of Games, this title takes players on a purposeful journey, allowing them to make their own choices of repairing a spaceship through arcane alchemy, maneuvering a mech, or starting a revolution.

Heavily reliant on the interactive fiction aspect, Heavens' Revolution: A Lion Among the Cypress is a story-driven, text-based visual novel that fuses fantasy and casual elements, providing players with a simple playthrough that lets them forge their own paths based on their decisions.

Decide your own fate

Set in a Persian steampunk empire, Heavens' Revolution: A Lion Among the Cypress is an interactive, retro-futuristic fantasy novel made by Peter Adrian Behravesh that allows players to assume the role of a citizen in eighteenth-century Iran—whether male, female, or nonbinary; gay, straight, bisexual, or asexual, making the game inclusive and offering users a proper representation of who they are.

In this story, you are both a descendant of the She’ri Empire that invaded the ancient city of Seyj and the Seyj’s ancient families. With the city on the brink of revolution, you must choose a path of either joining the revolutionists or the royalist army and use your expertise in magic and technology to lead your chosen faction to victory.

The game consists entirely of text, spanning about 275,000 words. Consequently, this might deter those players looking for action-packed titles, as this particular title contains no graphics or sound effects, making it less engaging and immersive. Without the inclusion of graphics, sound effects, or visual animations, the game offers a narrative-focused experience that prioritizes storytelling and decision-making over traditional gameplay mechanics many players are accustomed to.

A narrative-driven experience

Heavens' Revolution: A Lion Among the Cypress is a story-driven game that offers a rich, narrative experience. With its focus on player choice, magic, and faction dynamics, it allows for deep personalization, while its text-based format provides a narrative-driven experience for fans of interactive fiction. Though lacking visuals or sound effects, it offers an engaging journey for those who enjoy storytelling and decision-making over traditional action-based gameplay.

Our team performs checks each time a new file is uploaded and periodically reviews files to confirm or update their status. This comprehensive process allows us to set a status for any downloadable file as follows:

Clean

It’s extremely likely that this software program is clean.

What does this mean?

We have scanned the file and URLs associated with this software program in more than 50 of the world's leading antivirus services; no possible threat has been detected.

Warning

This software program is potentially malicious or may contain unwanted bundled software.

Why is the software program still available?

Based on our scan system, we have determined that these flags are possibly false positives.

What is a false positive?

It means a benign program is wrongfully flagged as malicious due to an overly broad detection signature or algorithm used in an antivirus program.

We’d like to highlight that from time to time, we may miss a potentially malicious software program. To continue promising you a malware-free catalog of programs and apps, our team has integrated a Report Software feature in every catalog page that loops your feedback back to us.

Flag any particular issues you may encounter and Softonic will address those concerns as soon as possible.
